The Gmail Email Client
Apparently Wayne Schuller developed an email client called Gmail in 2000 that used a similar concept of virtual folders (labels) as Google’s Gmail web service. One of the interesting things about this client is that it was driven by SQL and would allow you to sort and query your email using SQL. Other than that, it seems to just be another email client, but I wonder if the name and virtual folders had any affect on Google’s Gmail…
